Sites of Horror

With the passing of one of the last great legendary horror actors, it’s only appropriate that we send a few people over to his official web presence, THE MARK OF NASCHY. It’s a great historical reference for his works, in horror and outside the genre, and gives a thorough view of the man and the legend.

And speaking of great Spanish horror…
As far as I’m concerned, the Spanish horror films of the 60s, 70s and early 80s are ripe for rediscovery by a new generation of horror fans. They produced some of the greatest Euro-trash classics ever put on film. If you’ve never seen such musts as The Blind Dead series or even the forgotten classic, Bloody Moon by Jess Franco (a name synonymous with trash horror), then what the hell are you waiting for? Get them on your Netflix list right now, bucko!
For a great starter list, check out Tomb of Bloke’s Essential Spanish Horror Movies.

Ed Blunt and his cohorts have been serving up some great horror writing web help for a while now. This year’s short story contest proved for this writer to be both a boon and a bane —no, I did NOT win the contest. But I did learn some valuable lessons about the modern reader/writer. See, the only people who could cast a vote for their fav anonymously posted stories (something like 40+ of them!) were the contestants, my fellow writers.
While doing my duty as a participant, I noticed Ed has set up quite a nice little resource for writers and horror fans alike.
So do yourself a favor and drop by his message board and send some time meeting a bunch of great people.
