It Came From the Back Issue Bin! #13: 2010 Toronto Zombie Walk

by Jason Shayer

The undead poured out onto the streets of downtown Toronto on October 23, 2010. For the 8th year, over 6,000 of the undead showed up for the Toronto Zombie Walk. Compared to last year, there was a sharp rise in the number of zombie brides and zombie trekkies. The event was family-friendly with dozens several families showing up to celebrate their undead-ness, including our own.

Getting downtown though had strained the patience of even the undead. With the Gardiner closed, one of the main artery across city’s downtown core, it was an unpleasant drive there and back. Although, it did give us a great opportunity to see all the zombies walking up and down the streets startling passerbys who had no idea that the Zombie Walk was happening. Next year, the Zombie-Shayer family will definitely been taking the subway to the Zombie Walk.
